Next week, 300,000 raving fans of Electronic Music will descend on Las Vegas for what is called EDC.
What is EDC? The Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Las Vegas is a massive 3-day electronic dance music festival (May 15-17, 2026) at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, featuring over 200 artists, carnival rides, and art installations. It’s held at night and will attract around 300,000 people.

Before we get to the prep, let me answer the most popular question.
Why are the room rates so high during EDC?
For EDC Weekend, there is usually a spike in room rates. And we get asked Why ??
At least 150,000 people will be here every night, and the attendees will fill most of the hotel rooms. But that’s not the only reason for the high room rates.
The event is on a weekend and at night. That’s two strikes for the resorts. The reveler tends to come back from the event in the early hours, tired and ready for sleep. That is their day. Sleep during the day. Get refreshed and go do it all over again that night.
During EDC, we will see news updates talking about how many people they will put into a room to save money. Why not? They are only there to sleep! Four to six or more people to a room? Strike three for the resorts on making money.
